AI Projects
Seeing the potential of AI as a powerful tool for creating animated and live-action imagery, I decided I needed to dive in, so in 2025 I enrolled in the AI degree program at A-B Tech in my hometown of Asheville, NC, where I’m learning Python and PHP coding and machine learning applications, tools and techniques needed to level-up my skills for this new age of generative imagery.
My first project is animating my dad’s archive of vintage cartoons, known as the Bill Harrison Studio Line. I’m currently bringing these hand-drawn and inked cartoons to life using AI video models trained to echo the classic, limited 1960’s animation style created by studios like UPA, Terrytoons, Jay Ward and DePatie-Freleng.
The archive includes thousands of classic cartoons. Here are a few examples of this work-in-progress project.
The Palm Spring Stroll
This stylish gal was drawn and inked in the 1960’s. First I digitally cleaned and colored the original drawing. Then with some standard animation steps plus generative AI video techniques she was brought to life doing “The Palm Spring Stroll” for a social media post promoting Jean & James, a vintage boutique in Palm Springs.

Super Birthday
This not so superman was originally drawn in the 1960’s for a birthday greeting card. With generative AI video tools and some special animation techniques he’s come to life and is leaping tall buildings…kind of.

Super Birthday
AI tools are becoming an effective tool for creating motion graphics. This ocial post was designed and created using a combination of traditional graphics software along with AI layout and edting tools. Integrating digital image software and AI tools together can make for a powerful and fast workflow.
